A 3d cloud shape | New Microsoft Cloud Service Provider Requirements

What You Need to Know Before October 2025

Microsoft is strengthening its commitment to Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners by introducing new eligibility requirements starting October 1, 2025. If you’re an indirect reseller, here are the key steps to maintain your status and continue receiving incentives.

Requirements to Maintain Your CSP Indirect Reseller Status

To remain eligible as an indirect cloud solution provider, you must:

  • Add a security contact to your profile via the same link
  • Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all administrators in your Partner Center
  • Generate at least $1,000 USD in billed revenue over the past 12 months
  • Accept the Microsoft Partner Agreement (MPA) for indirect resellers

New Requirements to Receive Microsoft Incentives

Starting in the fiscal year July 2025 – June 2026, Microsoft is restructuring its incentive program to better support CSP partners. To qualify, you must:

  • Hold CSP authorization
  • Achieve a trailing twelve-month (TTM) revenue of $25,000 USD

Why These Changes Matter

In July, Microsoft announced increased investments in the CSP program.
These updates aim to:

  • Align incentives more closely with partner performance
  • Encourage specialization and skill development
  • Strengthen security and compliance across the Microsoft ecosystem
